SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury will hold two free vaccine clinics for senior citizens and children, part of an effort to boost influenza vaccinations as coronavirus cases continue to rise. Health officials nationwide are worried about a potential "twindemic," where hospitals would be overwhelmed by patients seeking care for either flu or coronavirus — or both. Hundreds of thousands of people seek hospital treatment during a typical flu season, according to the Centers for Disease Control. This year, Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered all young people from kindergarten through college get a flu shot. Space in the upcoming Sudbury flu clinics is limited, so health officials are asking residents to sign up ahead of time on the town website, or by emailing [email protected]. Both clinics will take place at the Sudbury DPW Building, 275 Old Lancaster Road. The senior clinic is Nov. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m., and the children's clinic is Nov. 18 during the same hours. Both clinics will take place curbside.
