Description
Song of Radhā - Madalenā Kirtan by Bhakti Weavers, with special guest Ramana on tablas. Our concert is dedicated to Sacred Feminines Rādhā and Madalenā, who each represent the epitome of the awakened heart, in rapturous devotion of the Supreme and in unending love with their Sacred Masculine. Rādhā is the quintessential lover of Krishnā, She is his Shakti (or energy), the very core of His being. She represents the sacred feminine within us, who lives by her rules and follows the dictates of her heart, her instincts, her emotions to seek union with her inner masculine, Krishnā, to realize her true Self. The essence of their relationship is defined by the spontaneous submission to each other and to the moment of their joyous union, with an utter disregard for social norms in love. Madalenā is the beloved of Jeshua, She is his divine equal who realizes her ‘fully human fully divine’ nature not simply by following him but by going within herself. Madalenā embodies the empowered, enlightened sacred feminine within us, whose profound wisdom and fierce unwavering love renders all things sacred from animals to angels, sees us through the darkest of times, through death, and resurrection. The essence of their relationship reflects the perfect balance of the sacred masculine and feminine within, and without, that helps birth the Christ essence in our heart. Chanting Rādha’s name or singing hymns to Madalenā are intense meditations that make our merger with Source possible! BIO: Bhakti Weavers is a kirtan band inspired by the sacred feminine, guided by teachings of her inner alchemy with the sacred masculine, and energized by soulful songs from various wisdom cultures. We are an evolving group of “kirtanistas”, weaving a tapestry of unity, spirit, joy and diversity through sacred song. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, our core group is Pavitra Jagadeesan, Renata Lima and Mary Menninger. Pavitra, Renata and Mary came together at Jai Uttal’s kirtan camp and the creative spark ignited. Their mirth can’t be contained!
