TNECD in partnership with the Memphis Chamber, EPICENTER, and Start Co. will host an event that will focus on Opportunity Zones. The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) in partnership with Memphis Chamber, EPICENTER, and Start Co. is pleased to invite you to a roundtable discussion focusing on the applicable uses and flexibility of the Qualified Opportunity Zone (QOZ) incentive. This robust incentive has raised a significant amount of private capital since the incentive was enacted in December of 2017, and we would like you to join us to: Hear about the latest updates involving the QOZ incentive and clarify misconceptions associated with the legislation; Learn about the bipartisan and bicameral support in Congress to extend the incentive for an additional 2 years, as well as make other impactful changes; Hear case studies about lessons learned from real estate and operating business projects; Discuss the innovative solutions and structures that are working for developers and investors as the market for QOZ projects matures; Hear the latest market trends and investor perception specific to QOZs in 2022 and beyond, and Discuss the opportunities that exist for community development initiatives and innovative projects that leverage local and regional institutions and economic development projectsMemphis has a number of real estate development projects that are uniquely positioned for receiving QOZ Investment.
