A Step to Freedom’s Blessing Bags 2022: This year, we are once again asking our amazing volunteers to step up to help us spread blessings. A Step to Freedom’s Blessing Bags 2022: Spreading Blessings and Increasing Awareness since 2015 The dedicated volunteers of A Step to Freedom (ASF) are the core of our community outreach and awareness events. Since 2015, ASF volunteers have been instrumental in preparing and distributing over 2,000 Blessing Bags filled with personal hygiene items, toiletries, and PPE to individuals living on the streets of South Los Angeles. Each bag is wrapped with a hand-written note from a volunteer as a small gesture of caring and to let them know they are not alone. Bags for women and girls contain feminine hygiene products to address period poverty, the inequities and inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products, education, and facilities that they face. This year, we are once again asking our amazing volunteers to step up to help us spread blessings and increase awareness around the issues of homelessness and period poverty.
