October 29, 2022 & October 30, 2022, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Both Days AVGC members use the gate code for your discount The goal of this course is to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home Course. Prerequisites: Must have completed NRA (BIT) Basic Instructor Training in the previous 2 years. Available (BIT) Basic Instructor Training Class on 8/14/2022 . Pre-Registration is required at www.HighDesertFirearmTraining.Eventbrite.com Must have taken the NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home class as a student. The student class is available at Apple Valley Gun Club 10/8/2022. Pre-Registration is required at http://avgc.eventbrite.com Must be a Certified NRA Personal Protection In The Home Instructor and Certified NRA Pistol Instructor. Required Equipment: Empty 3 Ring Binder, Notepad, Pen, Pencil and Highlighter Firearm, 2 extra magazines (3 total) or speed-loaders Minimum of 300 Rounds of Factory New Ammunition * No Reloads or Steel Quality Strong Side holster * No nylon or flimsy holsters allowed, Your holster must not collapse on itself. Your holster must completely cover the trigger guard and fit your gun. Belt * Must be a quality belt that supports your gun. No nylon or flimsy belts allowed. mag pouches Eye and Ear Protection (Electronic Preferred) Concealment Garment (shirt, vest, jacket etc.) Bring your book from when you took the class as a student (if you need a new book, they are available for $25 at the class) Bring a sack type lunch/dinner and any snacks that you would like. There is not enough time to leave to get something to eat. You are welcome to eat in the classroom. We have a microwave available. We will provide bottled water for you. Sodas and snacks are available for 50 cents each. There is no ammunition allowed in the classroom. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please leave your firearm and ammunition secured in your locked vehicle until instructed to retrieve them. You will be demonstrating your organizational and teaching skills through participation in practical exercises. You will take an examination. Attendance at the course does not guarantee that you will receive the recommendation. You are not paying for certification, you have the opportunity to become certified. Classes, training and / or certification are for individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law. Individuals who have been convicted of a crime of violence are disqualified. In compliance with U.S. Federal ITAR Regulations, Student must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident with a Green Card
