KINGS PARK, NY — Two brothers were rescued by Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers Monday night after their vessel became disabled on the Long Island Sound.
Estras Ruiz Treminio, 19, and Misael Ruiz Treminio, 21, both of Brentwood, were on a 10-foot rowboat roughly three miles off Sunken Meadow Beach on the Long Island Sound with no motor and only one paddle. They called 911 at 10:10 p.m. when they realized they could not get back to shore, according to police.
Marine Bureau Officers Charles Marchiselli and Joseph Lanzisera responded aboard Marine Bravo at 10:37 p.m., took the brothers aboard, and towed their boat to Sunken Meadow Beach. The brothers were wearing life-jackets and were not injured.
