NEW YORK CITY — A spate of subway delays temporarily interrupted New York City straphangers' "TGIF" vibes. Six subway lines ran with delays during the Friday morning rush hour, according to the MTA. The delays included the B/D lines, which were delayed in both directions as crews cleared a train that had its brakes activated on the Manhattan Bridge, the MTA posted at 7:59 a.m. The 2/5 line trains also ran with delays in both directions because of signal issues, the MTA posted at 7:29 a.m. The problem prompted some stop changes, according to transit officials "To alleviate congestion, the last stop on some northbound 2 trains will be 137 St-City College 1 line, or Harlem-148 St 3 line," the MTA's website states. "All 5 trains are making local stops in the Bronx." And, finally, F/M trains headed south experienced delays because the NYPD had to remove a disruptive passenger at 47-50 Streets-Rockefeller Center, the MTA posted at 8:06 a.m. Click here for a complete list of MTA subway delays.
