Join the Detroit Global Shapers as we work with the West Schulze Neighborhood Association to assist with their spring cleaning efforts. From 10:00 to 12:00 pm, Global Shapers will partner with local residents to clean up trash and beautify the Six Mile corridor between Schaefer HWY and James Couzens service drive (Lodge Freeway). Bring gloves and comfortable footwear/clothing for cleaning. While we acknowledge that a true war on trash would require: increased restrictions on single use plastics, an adoption of biodegradable product packagingan embrace of locally produced plant-based foods and beverages that don't require plastic packaging...Picking up trash is an important short term response to litter and trash in Detroit's neighborhoods! Come out and let's celebrate our city by removing debris and rubbish from an important thoroughfare.
