Sudbury To Continue Offering Meals During School Shutdown

SUDBURY, MA — Following Gov. Charlie Baker's decision to close schools for the rest of the year, Sudbury Public Schools will continue giving food to students who rely on meals during the school day. Each Monday between 11 a.m. and noon, families can pick up a full week's worth of meals at Ephraim Curtis Middle School. Following Baker's announcement on Tuesday, Superintendent Brad Crozier said Sudbury will continue remote learning for all schools until the last day of school on June 17. All schools will remain off-limits through the end of the year. Baker on March 25 ordered schools closed until May 4. On Tuesday, he said he decided to keep schools closed for the rest of the year because there's "no authoritative guidance or advisory on how to operate schools safely." "While we are saddened to hear that students will not be returning to our buildings for the remainder of this academic year, we understand that this decision was made out of an abundance of caution to keep our community safe," Crozier said Tuesday in a statement.
