Description

Press release from the City of Louisville: April 27, 2022 Another District 5 Estate Clinic scheduled for Saturday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m. Louisville – Councilwoman Donna Purvis (D-5) is hosting a second Estate Clinic on Saturday, April 30, at the Shawnee Branch Library. Attorneys from the Legal Aid Society will be available to answer questions and give advice on how to manage someone's estate. "Often when we lose a loved one, we are so emotionally torn that we do not handle the business associated with death," said Councilwoman Purvis. "This session will advise the community what to do when preparing your estate or a family member's estate. And the clinic will also teach you how to handle business once someone passes away without a will." Earlier this month, the councilwoman hosted the first educational Estate Clinic to help individuals learn more about the daunting task of handling the legal affairs that arise once a loved one passes. Councilwoman Purvis decided to add a second clinic event to encourage participation from other areas of the district. The Estate Clinic will be held at the Shawnee Branch Library, located at 3912 W. Broadway, from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There is no need to register for this event.
