STOUGHTON, MA — The federal government has sent about $659,000 to a Stoughton company for coronavirus relief efforts since Congress passed the CARES Act in March. The funding was awarded to SX Industries. SX Industries received a contract under the CARES Act under the Department of the Veterans Affairs for surgical appliance and supply manufacturing, according to the Federal Procurement Data System. SX Industries, founded in 2008, is a manufacturing company that specializes in zinc, steel, brass, injection molded nylon and plastic. Congress passed the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27. In addition to direct aid to people who lost their jobs and the Paycheck Protection Program to help small businesses avoid laying off workers, the act included direct government spending for fighting the coronavirus. Patch has reached out to SX Industries for comment.
