BOSTON — A Stoughton man pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in federal court Monday, admitting to distributing 120 grams of fentanyl and almost 100 grams of crack cocaine.
Dashawn Matthews, 31, was convicted of distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine.
The investigation into Matthews began in May 2019 when an undercover police officer and a cooperating witness made eight purchases of fentanyl, crack cocaine or both from Matthews.
Between May and August 2019, Matthews distributed 120 grams of fentanyl and 98 grams of crack cocaine. Prosecutors said most of the sales took place a short distant from the Orchard Gardens housing development in Roxbury.
Matthews could face 2o years in prison, at least three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million. U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young scheduled his sentencing for April 6, 2021.
