Volunteer with gardening - help cancer resource non-profit org

Jobs

Berkeley CA

Description

Please reach out if you are interested in watering a garden at least once a month for 2 hours. There are four shifts available - once a week for 2 hours. Pruning the plants will also need to be done on a less frequent basis. As will topping off with soil and repotting once a year. Light sweeping and cleaning preferred but there will be a maintenance person hired to do major weeding and sweeping of leaves and fennel plants. Attached pictures are just some of the areas around the property. Most plants are drought tolerant and succulents, but they still need to be watered on a regular basis. This garden is at a property that has a nonprofit that helps clients with cancer. It is preferred that you have some experience with plants, but if you don't we will still consider you as well. Some plants need more water than others and it is important to not over water, so volunteers will need to be able to identify and assess this accordingly to ensure plants stay healthy and thrive. The plants and garden provide a lush beautiful environment for the clients and staff to enjoy. There is no pay for this work - it is strictly 100% volunteering to give back to the community and be a part of a wonderful nonprofit. There will be a process to be approved as a volunteer as we are looking for folks that are reliable, honest, respectful, responsible, and kind. It is preferred to find one or two people who can commit long term. Please tell us a little bit about yourself. Let us know why you are interested in doing this work, how often you can commit, for how long you can commit, and your experience with plants and gardening. We will set up a call to talk and move the process forward if it seems like it will be a good fit. With community in mind and many blessings, thank you for considering to help our nonprofit that helps those in our community who have or had cancer.
