Founded in 2019, whet is a small biannual publication dedicated to showcasing the work of artists who identify as women from a diverse range of backgrounds—be it visual arts, rubber-stamp-making, fashion design, written or spoken word, nail design, or a variety of other mediums. whet was always intended to be a conduit, a means of connecting a larger readership with art made by women that had true meaning behind it. It is also an effort and opportunity to build and sculpt community amongst the artists and our readers. Here at whet, we appreciate the transformational power that art wields, and we want to encourage this prospect in others and in ourselves. whet is a volunteer-led operation and can’t provide paid commissions at this time, but we’re looking for writers looking to donate some of their time and amazing talent to this publication. Responsibilities would include interviews with artists and articles alike, and we always invite you to submit to the publication as well if you’re interested. Reach out if you want to learn more!
