STONEHAM, MA — Police on Wednesday morning found a stolen jeep with no one inside submerged in Doleful Pond. Fire Chief Matthew Grafton and Police Chief James McIntyre said responders went to the pond just before 9 a.m. after a 911 call. A dive team searched the wreck and determined no one was inside the vehicle. As Doleful Pond is in the Middlesex Fells Reservation, State Police were called to assist and the Department of Environmental Protection was notified. Police found the jeep was stolen from Boston, but it's unknown how or when it ended up in the pond. Photo courtesy of Stoneham Fire
