Description
Looking for a forever home for my sweet whippet. About Maximus: Maximus is a medium sized (39 lbs) neutered male, purebred whippet, who will be 2 yrs old mid-May. He is fully grown at this size, and is microchipped. He is a beautiful boy, full of play and love, and is great with kids of all ages. Maximus is house trained, and is very quiet. He loves to play fetch, run as fast as he can around the yard, go for walks, and if you let him-he will be your second shadow. He absolutely loves his people and attention. Feeding Maximus: Maximus can be a picky eater with plain dry food. So we mix half a can of wet food with half dry, and he gobbles it up without a problem. He sleeps in his crate at night, and when I run small errands he will rest in his crate as well. Though please keep in mind, Maximus is better suited to someone who will not be leaving him at home alone often, as he will stress when your not around, and can scratch at his crate. A preferred home for him will have a backyard he can run and play in. If no backyard, you must be able to take Maximus for walks so he may get exercise and outdoor time. If unfamiliar with the whippet breed, please understand they are an INDOOR dog only. They love cozy warm blankets and soft-cushy things to lounge on. Whippets are also a sight hound, so cats, and other small animals in the home will not work with him as he may want to chase them. The reason I am having to re-home Maximus is due to new changes at home. My mother and her service dog are now living with me, and Maximus is unable to adapt to her dog. He either runs scared of her, or has tried to nip at her. May be a jealousy thing, or perhaps he just isn't suited to live with other dogs. We have made a great effort to see if he could adjust to her, and it sadly just hasn’t worked out. So he will need a home where he is the only dog. Please know that Maximus means the world to me, so I will be choosy as to who gives him an amazing home. I want to make sure he goes to the best person/family suited for him. I also understand that people wish to buy all new things when getting a new furry friend. But if you wish to have Maximus’ bed, crate, or feeder, please let me know. There is a re-homing fee of $100. If you feel you are a good fit for Maximus and can give him a loving home, please email me/reply to this ad. Once I find his forever home, I will transfer his microchip over into your name. Thanks so much
