May ArchiTalks @ Articulture: Other Ways of Making Houses with Thoughtbarn Other Ways of Making Houses will be presented by Lucy Begg, AIA, co-director of Thoughtbarn. Lucy will share stories and insights from Thoughtbarn's residential work in Austin, with a focus on typologies that expand housing choice beyond the ubiquitous single-family models. Thoughtbarn is a collaboratively minded architecture studio co-directed by Lucy Begg, AIA and Robert Gay, Assoc. AIA. Founded in 2007, the practice has pursued an agenda of ambitious and diverse projects - buildings and public spaces, installations and interiors - which share an inventive materiality, an economy of means and a robust social and environmental ethic. This series showcases Austin’s talented architects and designers, with each installment focusing on an individual practitioner and their unique approach to their work.
