Emergency and Disaster Preparedness
Youth Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Students will learn about the difference between an emergency, a disaster, and a hazard as well as what types of emergencies to be prepared for, protective actions to take ,family emergency communications plans, disaster supply kits, Go Bags, gun safety and what to do during severe weather. A First Aid/CPR instructor will teach age appropriate basic first aid, including responsive vs. unresponsive , phoning for help ,when to call 911, personal protective equipment, the importance of hand washing, finding the problem, stopping bleeding and choking. The class will end with the kids receiving a Go Bag and a tour of the building.
