CU Sneaker Makers Camp 2022: Learn how to design and hand-assemble your own pair of sneakers! (FOR AGES 12 AND OLDER) • This engaging and educational, weeklong, creator camp will have students on the edge of their seat hand-making their own pair of sneakers. No prior knowledge, experience, or skills are needed. All the materials will be provided. Camp staff will teach students every step of the way and will provide as much guidance as needed for campers to finish their shoes. • Students will first learn about shoe deconstruction in order to understand shoe patternmaking and construction. They will learn about various fabrics, materials, and threads that ultimately form the silhouette of a shoe. With staff assistance, campers will learn to use a professional grade, industrial sewing machine to assemble their shoes. • Through this process, students will learn about failure as well as success and will come home with a deeper understanding of shoe design and construction. Your camper will also come home with a wearable, handmade, personally designed pair of sneakers inside its own handcrafted shoebox.
