Outreach-Feed6 is now partnering with Keller Williams ONE CHICAGO in hosting a very special Red Day meal packaging event producing tens of thousands of nutritious meals for neighbors in need. Bill Kanatas and partner, Chris Coyne co-founded the Feed6 (www.Feed6.org) movement in 2011 in the Chicago area as an expression of their support for local hungry and food insecure children, families, seniors, and veterans. Over the years they have attracted dozens of corporations, congregations, civic organizations, and schools as financial sponsors - and tens of thousands of volunteers - to package and distribute nearly 5.5 million nutritious meals to neighbors. All of this work has been in partnership with the internationally respected 501(C)(3) charity, Outreach (www.outreachprogram.org), which is accredited by Charity Navigator - and has been specifically honored at the White House by two US Presidents. The Red Day Event will be an extraordinary spirit-enriching celebration of giving and caring in which any one of any age or background can participate and extend love to those in need. It is a day of KW culture at its finest. It’s a work of joy - with music - and the opportunity to share a celebratory experience with friends, colleagues, and work associates. Your team of 10 to 12 volunteers will staff a production line for about two hours, producing several thousand delicious, nutritious meals of pasta marinara - fortified with soy protein, nutrients, and vitamins - and bagged, labeled, weighed, heat-sealed, and boxed employing strictly observed safety and hygienic precautions. Feed6 provides hands-on training, and throughout the experience supervises production flow and quality. Our meals will be distributed to local food-insecure individuals and families by Project Hope (https://chicago.goarch.org/ministry/hope/) which is providing significant funding for the Red Day event.
