April is Donate Life month, and on April 18 Tampa General Hospital held a Donate Life flag raising at 1:08PM this afternoon. The time was chosen to symbolize how one donor can impact up to 8 people in need of a life-saving organ transplant.
Hospital team members gathered with TGH transplant leadership, the hospital's spiritual health department and LifeLink® of Florida. A special testimony from the mother of a donor helped bring awareness and gratitude for the precious gift of life and to remember those still waiting for a second chance at life.
Tampa General Hospital is one of the busiest transplant centers in the country, with over 900 people on the hospital's organ transplant list on any given day.
