Learn how to dance the Lindy Hop with special guest instructors, Sean Johnson and Andria Vitagliano! Event Overview Here’s your chance to learn America’s dance, the Lindy Hop! Over the course of 4 hours, our special guest instructors, Andria Vitagliano and Sean Johnson will guide you through swing dance rhythms, several lindy hop basics and more advanced moves. You’ll learn the swingout, different turns, how to swing a beat, and how to dance the Shim Sham! This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill, meet new people, and find a new dance you enjoy! Already a Lindyhopper? There is content here for you too! Classes from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm and a really fun social dance and contests with prizes in the evening! Location: The Museum Club in Flagstaff, AZ. 3404 E Rte 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86004 No experience or partner required! About the instructors: Andria and Sean both started training in classical dance, theater, and music at a young age. Sean discovered Lindy Hop in 2008, and Andria later in 2011. They have been seen social dancing and teaching around the Phoenix Valley for over a decade. Their biggest love is Lindy Hop - but they also specialize in other vernacular jazz dance styles, such as Charleston and Balboa. They have dedicated themselves to studying jazz dance history spanning from the 1920s-1950s. In 2018, Andria won The Northwest Lindy Hop Championships amateur social dance competition. Sean has competed at the Advanced and All Stars Levels. His competition wins include the International Lindy Hop Championship social finals, 2nd place at The Northwest Lindy Hop Championships in 2017 & 2018, and 3rd place at Inspiration Weekend in 2016. Andria and Seans’ primary goal is to spread the love and joy of swing dancing, jazz history, and culture. Nothing brings them greater happiness than to connect with friends and newcomers alike on the social floor, so please ask them to dance!
