This conference will help us understand trauma and how individuals and systems can hold dignity and healing for themselves and others. We are seeing increasing numbers of traumatized and suffering people due to violence, abuse, and war. Statistics indicate that the church is not always a refuge for those wounded but is sometimes the cause. Rather than being shepherds, some leaders have been wolves while being praised for their successes. As leaders, we need to ask, ”How are we to care for the sheep in a way that bears the character of Christ?" We all are sheep, even if we are in a position of power. As caregivers, we need to grow and heal or end up exploiting those put in our care. This weekend will help us understand trauma and how individuals and systems can hold dignity and healing for themselves and those under their care. Come, find encouragement, hope, and be renewed.
