Description
PEABODY, MA — Overnight Route 128 road work in the Danvers/Peabody stretch will resume Sunday night and last for "several weeks."
The state Department of Transportation said temporary lane closures may be in effect when necessary as part of the Waters River bridge project. Work hours are Sunday through Thursday nights between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Route 114 and Endicott Street.
The DOT said these temporary impacts are necessary to allow the contractor to perform milling and paving operations on both the northbound and southbound sides.
Drivers who are traveling through the impacted areas should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution.
The work is being conducted as part of a $24.7 million project to reconstruct the bridge carrying Route 128 over the Waters River.
