RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — In the hopes of alleviating what it said to be the worst blood shortage in more than a decade, the American Red Cross, in partnership with the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, is hosting a blood drive May 5.
Residents interested in donating blood can sign up for an appointment on the American Red Cross website.
As a thank-you, residents who donate blood will be automatically entered to win a travel trailer camper that sleeps eight, according to a city news release. Donating residents will also receive a free $10 gift card to a merchant of their choice.
The blood drive will take place Thursday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Rancho Santa Margarita Library in the community room. The city's library is located at 30902 La Promesa.
