Group Of Kids Attack Two Suffolk Students In Boston Common: Police

BOSTON — Two Suffolk University students were attacked by a group of kids while walking through Boston Common this week. Police believe the attackers are behind a string of attacks occurring throughout the city. Police responded to an area near the Earl of Sandwich restaurant on Boston Common Wednesday night around 6:30 p.m. Two female Suffolk University students say they were walking through the Common when they were approached by a group of kids aged 11-14 in age. Police say one of the kids ended up punching one of the University students in the face. Officers at the Boston Police Department said they have identified two minors involved in an attack, one of whom will be summoned to court. They say the 11-year-old girl is too young to be charged under state law, but a 13-year-old boy will be summoned to juvenile court. Police say they are part of the group that punched a 20-year-old girl in Downtown Crossing and attacked employees and customers at a McDonald's before assaulting an officer. Five teenage girls are now facing charges. None of the kids involved could be identified because of their age, a factor that is frustrating Boston Police. The Department of Children and Families says they have joined Boston police in their investigations into the attacks. No additional information was immediately available.
