Description
INDIO, CA — A SigAlert Friday morning on eastbound Interstate 10 in Thermal due to a fiery crash involving two big rigs was causing significant traffic delays.
The crash was reported near Dillon Road at 2:09 a.m., west of the Cactus City Rest Area, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
As of 9:15 a.m., the SigAlert remained in place and traffic was still backed up.
The California Highway Patrol reported one lane was open but all lanes will close again for vehicle towing.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, one of the semi trailers caught fire.
The crash cause remains under investigation by the CHP.
