WINCHESTER, CA — A Menifee woman who was gravely injured in a vehicle crash late Thursday night in Winchester has died. Sahtarria Anderson, 32, was pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m. Friday at Wildomar's Inland Valley Medical Center, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau. The coroner reported the crash occurred at 10:55 p.m. on Domenigoni Parkway, east of Patterson Avenue. According to a preliminary California Highway Patrol report, the crash was caused by a 23-year-old Wildomar man in a Honda Civic who was DUI and driving westbound in eastbound lanes of Domenigoni Parkway when he smashed head-on into a Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 31-year-old Hemet man. Anderson was a front-seat passenger in the Malibu. All three people were sent to Inland Valley Medical Center in serious condition, according to the CHP. Anderson did not survive her injuries. There was no immediate update on the condition of the drivers. According to the CHP, the Honda driver will be arrested. The crash cause remains under investigation. The CHP reminds the public that DUI-related crashes "are not accidents and are completely preventable. It is easier than ever to find a safe ride home if your outing includes alcohol. Use a rideshare company, take public transportation, or designate a sober driver."
