PORTSMOUTH, NH — Children's Day returns to Downtown Portsmouth on Sunday.
This year's Pro Portsmouth event logo was designed by Aidan Dargenio and unveiled on April 21. His art will be featured on volunteer T-shirts, the 2022 Children's Day map, social media feeds, and the org's website.
Children's Day runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 1. The event starts with performers at the Block Party's Performance Area on Pleasant Street.
"Using the activity map and legend, families follow the alphabet all over downtown where they can enjoy a variety of crafts, games, and interactive activities," Barbara Massar, the executive director of the org, said.
Scheduled performers include TJ Wheeler & Friends, Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals, and NHAPA/Seacoast Civic Dance Company.
Support For Children's Day for 2022 came from Mass General Brigham/Wentworth Douglass Hospital, Northeast Credit Union, Snapology, Tailored Pediatric Medicine, Treehouse Toys, G.Willikers, Kilwin's, alpha graphics, ad cetera, and Blue Dolphin.
Massar said thanks go out to the city of Portsmouth's city manager, Karen Conard, and the various city departments for supporting the event.
The Children's Day map will be available at the event and can be downloaded/printed on the Pro Portsmouth: https://proportsmouth.org/childrens-day-map/.
