PLAINFIELD, IL — Spring might have been hiding this week in Plainfield, but locals can still get a sense of warmer weather and sunshine with Spectrum Youth Singers' spring concert Saturday.
The show, titled "Here's To Song," will kick off at 7 p.m. at Plainfield Congregational United Church of Christ, 24020 W. Fraser Road. Featured songs will include pieces by Ukrainian, American and Canadian composers.
Admission to the concert is $5 for children and $10 for adults. Tickets will be available at the door.
"A community choir that enriches the lives of young people through choral music," Spectrum Youth Singers is comprised of Plainfield youth ranging from third- to 10th-graders.
Following the concert, auditions will be held for kids in grades five through nine who might be interested in joining the 2022-23 choir season.
"If you have a passion for singing, and are eager to learn more about music and enjoy performing, then come sing with Spectrum Youth Singers!" Oksana Rodak, artistic director, wrote in an email to Patch. "Tuition is affordable, the music education is simply the best, and you will make beautiful music and friends."
