JOLIET, IL — A 67-year-old Joliet woman is now facing her third DUI charge after crashing her Ford Ranger into a parkway tree on Tuesday night, according to Joliet police. Officers hauled away Mary Spencer in handcuffs, bringing her to the Will County. Spencer, who lives in the 1100 block of Karen Drive, was charged with aggravated DUI and two related criminal offenses, including driving on a suspended license. Spencer got into her wreck around 10:50 p.m. in the 800 block of Mission Boulevard, according to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English. Mission Boulevard is off McDonough Street out by the River Valley Juvenile Center and the Inwood Public Golf Course. "Spencer was driving a Ford Ranger southbound on Mission Boulevard at which time she lost control of the vehicle and struck a parkway tree on the west side of the street. While speaking to officers, Spencer exhibited signs of alcohol impairment," English announced. He said that Spencer performed poorly on her field sobriety tests, and she was taken into custody without any problems. Spencer had a revoked driver's license at the time of the crash, police reports show. Spencer was released from the Will County Jail on Wednesday night after posting 10 percent of her $75,000 bail, jail logs show.
