BEAVERTON, OR — To find their 12th principal, Jesuit High School conducted a nationwide search. They even flew four top candidates to Beaverton for interviews and to meet staff. In the end, it turned out the perfect candidate had been there all along. The school announced Thursday that Khalid Maxie will take over as principal on July 1. He has been a part of the administrative team at the school for the past 10 years, according to the school. Maxie is currently the vice prinicipal of academics and student life, a job he will hold until the new job begins. "I am overcome with joy and gratitude for the appointment to principal," Maxie said. "I am looking forward to partnering with my colleagues in this sacred vacation while serving our students." Maxie was one of two people in charge of the schools community-wide mascot input and evaluation process and led recent initiatives concerning accreditation and developing Jesuit's School Improvement Plan priorities, according to the school. School president Thomas Arndorer called Maxie's section"an exciting inflection point in Jesuit's history."
