EAGAN, MN — Eagan Community Foundation announced that it worked with Emagine Theater, The Ukrainian State Film Agency and The Ukrainian American Cultural Center to create a Ukrainian Film Festival to raise funds for Ukrainians as the country's war with Russia continues.
Emagine Theater is donating space, popcorn and soda for the festival, Eagan Community Foundation said. Tickets for the festival are $20 each and include the popcorn and soda, according to the foundation.
"While raising funds for Ukraine is slightly beyond the usual scope of the Foundation, some of the ticket proceeds will go to peer community foundations in Ukraine that currently have extreme need," Eagan Community Foundation Executive Director Jamie Hopkins said.
Some of the proceeds will also go to buying bullet-proof vests, helmets and tourniquets, as well as supporting film makers in Ukraine documenting the war, the foundation said.
