Description
The City of Chicago has designated 2022 as the "Year of Chicago Dance," so the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce is celebrating with Let's Dance Andersonville!, a dance party featuring free music and performances on Saturday, April 30 from 11 am – 4 pm at the former Akira storefront at 5228 N. Clark St.
Performance Schedule:
11 am – Helen C. Peirce School (Bollywood)
11:30 am – Desueño Dance (Salsa)
12 pm – Illinois Center for Kathak (Kathak)
12:30 pm – Chicago Casineros (Rueda de Casino)
1 pm – Nordic Folk Dancers of Chicago (Nordic Folk Dance)
2 pm – Chicago Tap Theatre (Tap)
2:15 pm – Glenwood Dance Studio (Hustle & Jitterbug)
3 pm – Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Youth Company (Tangos Flamenco)
3:15 pm – 312 Movement (Argentine Tango)
3:45 pm – The Met Down (Hip Hop)
4 pm – Joel Hall Dancers (Urban Jazz)
Trey Elder of Quiet Pterodactyl will serve as emcee and Music Mix Master Guru. Photography by Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth will be available for download after the event at lenihoppenworth.com. Select portions of Let's Dance Andersonville! will livestream on Facebook at facebook.com/chicagodances.
Community tables will share information about upcoming events including Chicago Dancemakers Forum, 2022 Chicago Dance Summit and CAARPR - Empowering Communities for Public Safety.
