"Let us all recognize and welcome comrade Nina Jankowicz in her role as the 'czar' of the newly formed Disinformation Governance Board over at Homeland Security. Her work and track record at the Wilson Center has unquestionably demonstrated her loyalty to the party. We all look forward to the "new" truths she shall show us all!" All kidding aside, does anyone else feel as if the world today is some twilight zone spin on reality where art imitates life -- but only using the leftist and liberal totalitarian examples? George Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' and the "Ministry of Truth" or Rod Serling's 'The Obsolete Man' spring instantly to mind. Has history become nothing more than a political tool to forward whatever 'emotionally true' feelings that are in fashion by the mob at the current moment? Can facts really become 'negotiable and malleable' depending solely upon how they make you feel? Is that the "new truth" we find ourselves using today? Does anyone even remember Joseph Goebbels and the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda? How about the Glavlit and the Department for Agitation and Propaganda in the former Soviet Union? Trends are hard to stop once they have started and gained momentum -- and this "trend" seems to be, sadly, firmly established. Someone, anyone, please tell me that I am wrong!
