SOMERVILLE, MA — A Somerville man was indicted on drug and weapons charges in federal court in Boston Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney's office said. Tevon Ngomba, 27, is accused of selling fentanyl while illegally in possession of a loaded gun, federal authorities said.
Ngomba faces charges of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl and possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
Authorities say around July 16, Ngomba sold at least 40 grams of fentanyl for about $1,800. When he was arrested during an undercover operation Aug. 3, he had fentanyl and a .40-caliber Ruger pistol, with an obliterated serial number, loaded with three rounds of ammunition, the U.S. Attorney's office said.
Ngomba is prohibited from possessing guns or ammunition due to a prior state conviction.
