I am the guy in the green bomber jacket that asked you out. It was clear as day that you were turned on by my confidence but you thought it would be a good idea to play hard to get. Well, as you saw, that tactic does not work. Playing hard to get has a place in life but you should only do it when you get to see the guy repeatedly over a long period of time (classmate, coworker, etc.). When the guy only has a few minutes window to get things done, playing hard to get is a terrible idea.
