Description

Hey guys! My name is Tim and I'm a self-taught guitar player (and drummer) of 15 years. I listen to everything from old school bluegrass and hip-hop to technical death metal and everything in between. Heavy music is my usual go to but there is something to enjoy in all styles of music. So, right now I am in a position to offer online guitar teaching. I have taught several people before with a fair amount of success and I want to help guide others along their guitar journey. It's very satisfying to watch someone's love of music grow. Because I am self-taught, I do not teach the traditional way. If you are needing someone to spend weeks on chord shapes and names and theory and a lot of textbook stuff, that's completely understandable, but I am not that guy. The only theory will be the minimum needed to help you remember what you're working on. I will teach you the way I learned which is a lot easier and a lot more fun in my opinion. Like most things in life, when learning something is fun, you progress quickly and retain more! I will teach you to play what YOU want to play. We will work on songs that YOU like and you will quickly learn how to play your favorites. By learning this way, you acquire techniques without even realizing it and learning other songs becomes easier and as you add to your toolbox of skills. The only thing you need is a guitar and a basic sense of rhythm. (I have noticed that rhythm cannot be taught easily) But, if you can tap your foot to a beat without any trouble then you've got all the rhythm you need! We will start out once or twice a week depending on your progress and comfort level and go from there. First week is free! I am not expensive and am very flexible. Right now my availability is weekdays after 5 and weekends after noon but I can usually move things around. Beginners are welcome! Texting is preferred and you can text anytime. Hope to hear from you but if I don't, good luck on your journey! It's always hardest at first but it does get easier. Take care!
