Established San Luis Obispo area General Contractor seeking motivated individual experienced in a variety of trades to support the Civil Division Maintenance team. Specialty Construction, Inc. maintains a large heavy equipment fleet and vehicle fleet inclusive of our low bed heavy equipment transport, Lube & fuel truck, and heavy equipment mechanics. Job duties to support the Maintenance Division would focus on the following: • Individual will be integral part of the civil maintenance team reporting directly to the Maintenance Division Manager &/or Civil Division Manager • The individual must be physically capable to manipulate small tools and powered equipment. • The individual would support projects throughout the tri-county area by picking up various hand operated equipment &/or supplies from the shop and ferry these items out to the field projects, as required. • Some small equipment and large heavy equipment mechanic skills would be an asset. • Individual must have a clean driving record, and ability to drive F450 with equipment trailer. • Highly desirable to possess a Class A license, or willing to get class A and possibly hazmat endorsement • Willing to learn, be a team player, come to work “ready to work”, work well with others, and also ability to by yourself (self-motivated) Paramount to this position is a keen awareness to safety practices as well as having a personality and positive communications skills to interact with the various field personnel & manager with the Civil Division. Job responsibilities are predominantly limited to 8-hour days/40-hours per week; however, longer work days or work weeks may be required depending upon work load. Responsibilities may require occasional out of town duties and over-night stays; however, these situation circumstances are very limited (over-night hotel & per diem is paid by Company).
