Description
Hero is a 1.5 year old german shepherd/ husky/ heeler mix. He is about 55 lbs, neutered, and up to date on his shots. He is a VERY high energy dog. I will be looking for a home with experienced dog owners preferably with the breeds listed above. I am not going to sugarcoat anything about him because that’s not beneficial to anybody. Hero requires almost constant stimulation, whether that be play, exercise, or obedience training. He knows a LOT of commands. He is extremely intelligent. He can learn new tricks in one sitting. He is very treat motivated but can be very stubborn. He has the typical attitude of a husky (if you’ve had one, you know), which means no matter how well he knows his commands, he is very picky about when he listens. A key instance of this comes into play with certain habits I have been trying to break from the day I got him. He knows the commands “off” and “no bite” but it has never stopped him from jumping all over people and using his mouth to play like a puppy. He is very mouthy and handsy, which makes him totally unsuitable for a home with children. As far as biting, he has NEVER bitten out of aggression or broken skin. It is just play, but it can get rough, and that’s not a good fit for a lot of people. He is house trained and crate trained. I use bells on the door, so he can tell me when he needs to potty. I also keep him in a crate when I’m gone because he will 100% chew furniture. He does sleep in my bed with me, though, and has never disturbed any of my stuff during the night. He is not compatible with cats because he will chase them. Contact me for details regarding dogs. These are the things Hero needs in his new home: an experienced dog owner, a fenced back yard and/or lots of land to run on, a person with lots of time for him and an active lifestyle, and someone who is patient enough to work through his behavioral issues with him. I want to make it very clear that I am not rehoming Hero because of these issues. I love Hero unconditionally. I always thought I’d keep him forever, and this is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but it’s necessary. With that being said, I will be extremely picky about his new home. Do not contact me unless you are serious. I am asking for a $200 rehoming fee. This is non negotiable. I want him to go to a great home. He will also come with everything he needs: food, bowls, leash, collar, crate, toys, etc. Please TEXT if interested. I will not be taking calls from numbers I don’t know.
