Two handsome shorthaired cats

Two brothers that must stay together as they are 3 years old and are bonded. Super great and affectionate as well as clean and neutered. They are absolutely beautiful British Shorthairs. I have had them for almost 2 months now and I want badly to keep them but they absolutely will not come downstairs. They stay in one room except at night when I go upstairs to get ready for bed. Then they want lots of love and are super present. They are trying to avoid the dog we have, whom is not at all aggressive or even interested in them. I have tried everything, including keeping their food at bottom of stairs to get them to understand they are safe. Not comfortable letting them go 2 days without food. Even tried keeping all doors shut upstairs for several days but they still stayed at top of stairs. Running out of ideas and hoping to find them a home where they are the only pets or at least no dog. $100 rehoming fee, to include cat tree, new bag of food and litter, and litter box. Not in a hurry to rehome them as I want best possible placement for them. Please dont have a dog, if interested. If they aren't comfortable with my little chill couch potato of a dog, they won't likely warm up to others. Thank you for reading.
