Yard Solutions, a well-established landscaping company is seeking an experienced landscape operations manager. The Position: Salary: Salary: Exempt, $55k-$85k/annually Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, lift, move, 50lbs. continuously Work Schedule: Hours vary based on seasonal needs as indicated by Branch Manager. Work Location: 4830 Hendron Rd. Groveport, Ohio 43125 Work Conditions: Outdoor environment, some office time, driving intensive. Travel: 70% Equipment/Tools Used: Skid Steer and other heavy equipment, small power tools, small hand tools, landscaping equipment. Primary Responsibilities: Profitability: Meet the requirements of the landscape maintenance division’s annual budgets for revenue, overhead and profit. Employee Management: Daily Crew Sendoff: Ensure on-time departure of all crews by designated time, as specified by the Branch Manager Facilitate Morning huddle: Discuss any changes to the original work day plan Motivate and engage team Foster proactive and effective communication Weekly Safety Talks: document information, collect training sign-in sheet with attendee signatures and date of training Crew Optimization: Create efficiencies to reduce hours Train and develop crews to achieve quality results Review, revise and /or set daily plans with each crew in order to keep them on schedule. Pace set and assist them in reducing projected job hours. Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded. Facilitate Crew Leader Meeting: Monthly meeting to discuss success and failures, areas that need improvement, announce performance bonus earnings, and conduct Safety Talk. Crew Planning: Daily scheduling, minimum of 2 weeks ahead of time Quality Control: Ensure each job is performed to Yard Solution’s standards and per contract Correct crews if quality standards are not met. Participate in interviews, hiring, orientation, training, performance reviews and terminations, as needed. Account Management: Daily Develop a secondary relationship with clients to enhance the customer experience and substantiate the Crew Leader's responsibilities Enhancements: Responsible for identifying and communicating potential enhancement ideas to the account manager When able, provide enough detail so the account manager can produce a quote without visiting the site. Lead the weekly Job Handoff Meeting with crew leaders and designers to assure we are making the right decisions, at the right time and ensure all details of the job are known prior to starting Warranty: Ownership of the Warranty process from start to finish. Effectively communicate with clients and staff. Document all communication in shared documents.   Materials/Equipment: Pick up materials and equipment when necessary. Mange common stock items so inventory is always at our desired amount Maintain tool inventory for each crew. Perform quarterly tool checks Safety: ALWAYS!!! Ensure compliance with the company’s safety and behavioral policies Weekly and Monthly Safety Talks Snow Removal: As Needed Complete Area Manager duties as outlined by Snow Area Manager job description. Other Responsibilities: Establish and maintain involvement in community and/or industry activities to promote brand awareness Assist with shop/ yard duties as required by the Branch Manager Minimum Requirements: One year of experience managing people, equipment, and operations. Experience with Microsoft Office Insurability and ability to operate the company’s vehicles Knowledge of and ability to operate requisite landscape machinery Ability to work overtime and extended hours determined by Branch Manager. Preferred Skills: Certifications: OCNT or equivalent ODA Applicator’s license in Turf and Ornamental Minimum three years’ experience in the green industry with a focus in lawncare, mowing, maintenance. 2 or 4 year degree in an accredited landscape-related program Bi-lingual (Spanish) and English Knowledge and Competencies: Strong work ethic, embracing accountability and consistency Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, quickly-changing environment Teamwork collaboration Excellent problem-solving skills To set up an interview, please call 614-753-9119.
