Bassist looking for original band

I'm primarily a guitarist but also love to play bass. Looking to join/start an original band. If starting something, I'm relatively open on the format/pieces, as long as there's a drummer and another chordal rhythm instrument (keys or guitar), and a vocalist. Anything beyond that--horns, etc., are cool also. Bass influences: Paul McCartney Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots) Billy Cox (Hendrix Band of Gypsies and later recordings) Stu Zender (Jamiroquai) James Jamerson (MoTown) Aston Barrett (The Wailers / Bob Marley) Sting Justin Chancellor (Tool) Stefan Lessard (DMB) Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine) Bootsy Collins (James Brown & P-Funk) Juan Alderete (The Mars Volta) Looking to do something to get people moving and having fun. I am most interested in serving the song, locking in with the drummer, and establishing/preserving the pocket than anything else. The occasional cover is fine, but I do not want to do the cover/tribute band thing. I play a 4 or 5 string. Fingers or pick. Pro rig. Can also sing backing vocals or harmonies. I can get around the instrument just fine, but I am not super super technical and don't aspire to be a Victor Wooten or Les Claypool type of player where bass is the lead instrument. I'm not doing this for the money. I have a day job and a family. Hit me up if you want to jam and see where it goes.
