I don't mean to be rude, but I really need an expert. Someone who is familiar with Volvo tops' sequence and machinations and has successfully repaired these before.
I do not need someone who thinks he might be able to do it.
The car is a 2004 Volvo C70. ( Frau Blücher ) The top has worked flawlessly since we bought the car.
It's not a daily driver and last time, we let it sit long enough for the battery to die. We jumped it and my wife took it for a joy ride.
She had the top down and when she tried to put it up, it wouldn't fully close.
There are two latches inside and on either side of the top well which are supposed to open as the top is raised and close again once the top is fully open and stored, reopen as the top is lowered and close once the top is secured to the windshield. These are not opening. We used the manual override crank in the trunk to close the top, but it needs to be repaired so it works correctly. We will compensate a knowledgeable as best as we can. We're not rich enough to take it to European Car Performance, and even if we were, their next scheduled opening isn't until the end of may.
Sorry about making you go through the Craigslist relay to reply, but you know how it is. Thank you.
