Learn about an essential Dogen teaching by visiting Zen teachers Linda Galijan and Greg Fain.
Dogen's Fukanzazengi ("Universal Recommendation for Zazen (Seated Meditation)") expounds the "essential art of zazen." In addition to the foundational instructions for zazen, this 3-part class will explore: Why is the practice of upright sitting so important? What does it mean to "think not-thinking"? How is zazen "the dharma gate of repose and bliss"?
Join Zen teachers Shinchi Linda Galijan and Zenshin Greg Fain of Tassajara Zen Mountain Center for a three-part class, offered on three successive nights, May 24, 25 and 26, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Together we will explore the meaning and relevance of this magnificent short essay to our current life and practice. There is no need to commit to all three classes, each will be a stand-alone event. We hope to see you there!
“Nobody can do it for you, and you can’t do it alone.”
