In this entry level position, you will assist shop fabricators with a variety of tasks, while learning the basics of manufacturing including how to operate machinery. If you are willing to learn new skills, enjoy working with your hands, and get excited when hardware and tools go on sale, you could be an ideal fit for this shop assistant job. Responsibilities: • Provide general assistance around the shop, including administrative and technical tasks • Assist with shop loading and work kit preparation • Load and unload delivery trucks • Stock raw materials in appropriate quantities • Clean and maintain equipment as directed • Provide assistance to fabricators, logistics, and shop supervisors as needed • Operate equipment such as band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, disc grinder, punch press. • Clean, prepare and paint finish products • Perform daily building maintenance, disinfecting and cleaning Requirements: • Current and Valid Driver’s License • Ability to identify, pull, and count hardware. • Hours are generally 6:00 am to 2:30 PM. • Must have reliable transportation to work every morning. • High school diploma or GED equivalent • Previous experience in manufacturing or shop work, including metal or wood shop classes • Aptitude for mechanics • Familiarity with hand tools • Strong communication skills • Physically capable of standing for extended periods of time and lifting to 70 pounds
