Job Summary Safety oriented laborers to assist the plant employees in the clean-up and housekeeping activities for all areas of the Plant. On a day-to-day basis, the employees will be expected to follow instructions provided by the group leader. A safety conscious mindset will be required to complete the tasks assigned. You will work in areas that may require the use of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe boots, respirator, gloves, disposable coverall and harness. Job Responsibilities • Conveyor cleaning • Shoveling of ash build up from under and around conveyor systems and hoppers and transport it with wheelbarrows • General plant clean-up, removal of trash/garbage and debris from repair activities, etc • Cleaning inside hoppers and boilers (confined space entry) • Performing Confined Space Attendant duties • Fire watch duties • Sweep/Shovel/Power Wash building floors • Open equipment access doors • Painting • Dusting Ability • Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds • Reach with hands and arms • At times work in heights greater than 4 feet • Work in confined spaces • Work in temperatures of >90° Requirements 1 year of cleaning experience, preferred High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Must be able to work in a Steel Mill environment Employees must be able to walk without any assistance or device Employees must be able to ascend and descend stairwells Employees must be able to wear safety glasses – if they have prescription eye wear, they will be required wear another pair of safety glasses over top the prescribed eyewear or employee purchases prescribed safety glasses meeting Cliffs Safety Standards Employees must wear PPE as required Employee must be able to function in heavy industry setting – large trucks, earth moving vehicles, trains, cranes, dirt, grease, high heat and humidity, foul odors, uneven terrain, navigate in dark areas What ATALIAN Offers: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance. 401K with match.
