HICKSVILLE, NY – Old Country Road Elementary School in Hicksville will reopen on Thursday, school officials announced Wednesday. According to Superintendent Marianne Litzman, the Nassau County Department of Health has completed contact tracing protocol. Close contacts have been advised to quarantine until Monday and learn and instruct remotely. "It is important to remember that the health and safety protocols in place in all our buildings, including wearing masks, washing hands, social distancing and daily disinfecting of facilities, are intentionally designed to mitigate the spread of COVID," Litzman said in a letter to families. On Monday, school officials alerted the school community that an individual at the elementary school had tested positive for COVID-19. The building was closed Tuesday and Wednesday for cleaning and contact tracing.
