Experience a taste of the Spring 2022 season at the AjA Project! Enjoy art workshops, activities & student exhibitions for the whole family.
Welcome Home will be a family friendly, all day, open house event offering a free S.T.E.A.M On Demand cyanotype workshop, People in Places sewing activity with Barrio Logan artist, Claudia Biezunski-Rodriguez, owner of Sew Loka, Counter Surveillance engagement with Curriculum Author Kenya (Robinson), ACTION! student filmmaking presentation, COMPASS Wellness Workshop, JOURNEY Language Audio Station, lunch catered by neighborhood partner, United Women East African Support Team ( UWEAST), a student gallery exhibition featuring artworks from Juvenile Court and Community School youth, guest speakers, and an opportunity to learn more about AjA’s core programs for transformative youth art programming.
This is an opportunity to experience AjA Project's offsite curriculum and learn how to get involved as a student, teacher, family member and/or become a partner site. It is our goal to provide our City Heights community with a home base and makerspace for youth creativity.
Schedule
We'll have student exhibitions, art workshops and discussion groups on the hour every hour. Check back for the hour-by-hour schedule!
Parking
The AjA Project parking lot will be blocked off and used for Open House workshops. There is a parking structure across the street at 4060 Fairmount Avenue.
Food & Refreshments
Light snacks, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
