Description

Join us to discover alternate ways of managing your pain and living a better quality of physically, mentally, and spiriturall. By now everyone is gravely aware of how pharmaceutical painkillers created an opioid epidemic that has devastated millions of lives - either directly or by collateral damage. Even prolonged use of pain killers like acetaminophen and ibuprofen cause major damage to various organ systems in the body. According to the US Centers of Disease Control, approximately 20%, or 50.2 million people live with chronic pain they experience most days or every day. If you’re one of these individuals, we encourage you to join us to discover alternate ways of managing your pain and living a better quality of life. Instructors, Josh Edwards of Kipper’s Care Collective and Divine Performance, Meredith Barrett of Nature’s LLC, and Marsha Cassel of Cassel Farm and Apiary will be teaming up along with “Ed” (last name anonymous) to present a very special workshop. The price of admission includes a non-inflammatory whole foods lunch that tastes surprisingly delicious. The schedule is as follows: 10:00 – 10:30 Introduction to your instructors and icebreaker exercise 10:30 – 11:15 Ed’s story – Ed become addicted to opioids at age five after suffering burns from scalding water. Later in life, Ed was in a near-fatal motorcycle accident, which got him addicted to oxycontin once again. After serving two years in state prison, Ed is now productive, healthy, and pain-free member of society. 11:15 – 11:30 – Break 11:30 – 12:15 – Josh’s Story - His personal battle with chronic pain, developing a mindset for living in pain, the true narrative of Kipper’s Care Collective and its mission 12:15-1:15 – Lunch break with special guest Marsha Cassel of Cassel Farm and Apiary 1:15 – 1:45 – The biology of pain and the endocannabinoid system – Josh Edwards 1:45 – 2:00 – Break 2:00 – 2:30 - How to fight pain by reducing inflammation in the body and other alternative forms of pain relief – Meredith Barrett
